Clinical Peels

Clinical Peels

for anti-wrinkle, discoloured skin and scars

A clinical peel is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back is smoother. Based on your initial consultation, your aesthetic doctor may recommend multiple sessions for you to get your desired results.

What is a Clinical Peel?

Clinical peels are used to treat wrinkles, discoloured skin and scars — usually on the face. They can be done alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures.

Types Of Clinical Peels at Acclaro Clinic

  • Moving past traditional peels that damage the surface skin to penetrate into newer skin below, Enerpeel® technology is a new, patented carrier solution that restrains the activity of the acid until it is absorbed. This is not buffering the acid and does not reduce its activity; instead, it restrains the acid and then releases it to accelerate through the skin, enhancing its activity.

Enerpeel® provides a uniform, enhanced absorption of the active ingredients, with two- to three-fold improved skin penetration. Enerpeel®, therefore, releases the acid’s protons at a higher skin water content so they accelerate through the skin, separating cells in a ‘cleaner’ quicker way.

  • Modified Jessner’s Peel is an all-inclusive peel for acne management, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and rough textured skin. It removes skin cells from the top layer of your skin, the epidermis, and the upper portion of the middle layer, the dermis. The Jessner solution is also frequently added to other peel solutions to increase their effectiveness on scars and pigmentation.

  • A fruity organic blend of passionfruit, pumpkin, pineapple, papaya, and mango fruit enzymes and peptides in an organic aloe Vera gel base helps to re-balance, regenerate and restore skin while comfrey plant stem cells recharge your skin’s stem cells to maintain youthfulness of skin. A hydrating balancing masque is applied thickly afterwards to soothe and bathe the skin with organic green tea and other antioxidants.

  • A high dose of Vitamin C, hydroxy acids and enzymes work together to speed up cellular renewal. New technology of centella stem cells support rosacea/redness prone skin, and botanical detoxifying and energising complexes give noticeable results in just one session.

  • A potent blend of glycolic and salicylic hydroxy acids blended with lilac plant-derived stem cell extracts help to reduce blemishes, redness and inflammation and diminish post-breakout dark spots. Detoxifying ylang ylang and eucalyptus purify oily skin and effectively treat and reduce acne lesions.

  • Uneven complexions have met their match. This results-driven treatment combines the most innovative and effective botanical brighteners. A blend of lactic acid and kojic acid, together with echinacea plant-derived stem cell extracts and anti-aging peptides leave the skin younger-looking and luminous.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • An experienced aesthetic doctor will know how to conduct a treatment that minimizes side effects. However as with any medical treatment, there are certain risks and complications. Some of these include:

    • Persistent redness that may last for months.

    • Temporary darkening of the skin.

    • Lighter skin color (medium and deep peels).

    • Scarring

It is imperative that you follow your aesthetic doctor’s post-treatment instructions. Your risk for developing an infection or scarring increase dramatically if you:

    • Fail to protect your skin from the sun.

    • Fail to care for your wound as instructed.

    • Scratch the treated skin or pick off a scab.

    • Apply makeup before your skin heals.

    • Use a tanning bed or other type of indoor tanning.

  • Most patients will typically see results once their skin heals. Healing time ranges from 1 day for a refreshing or lunchtime peel to 14 days or longer for a deep peel. To get the results you seek from a refreshing peel or lunchtime peel, you may need to have 3 to 5 peels.

  • Chemical peels cause patients minimal pain. While you may experience a slight tingling, tightness, or a change in the temperature of your skin, chemical peels are not painful. The provider will monitor your reaction to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure.

  • The length of downtime depends on the treatment that was prescribed. Patients that have undergone light peel treatment will have no downtime. Medium peel treatments typically require a couple days of downtime. Deep peels are usually followed by a week of redness and peeling.
